Some customers often faces this issue: when they provide the vehicle frame number(VIN) or model number of the bus to the manufacturer, however the manufacturer is unable to confirm the exact size of the wiper linkage required.Because the specifications of bus wiper linkages differ greatly from those for trucks and cars. It is impossible to obtain complete product information solely by referencing the OE number. Customers must measure and provide the actual dimensions themselves. Only with these measured data can manufacturers produce fully compatible custom bus wiper linkages.

How should we measure the dimensions of the wiper linkage? Below are two common types: Overlapping wiper linkage and vertical wiper linkage.

Required measuring tools: tape measure and vernier caliper.

1. Overlapping wiper linkage

• First, take photos of the wiper linkage in assembled condition to check the rivet connections, and confirm whether the linkage is for right-hand drive (RHD) or left-hand drive (LHD) vehicles.

•  Measure the dimensions of the main tie rod and auxiliary tie rods in accordance with the photo below. Please note that all measurements shall be taken center point to center point.

• The main rocker arm,the auxiliary rocker arm and cam. If there are any numbers stamped on the them, please take a photo and send it to us.

• When measuring the rocker arm, please measure these dimensions: the length and outer diameter of the rocker arm threaded sleeve, the head diameter of the rocker arm, as well as the total length of the rocker arm. Refer to the figure below for reference

•  For cam measurement, measure its outer diameter and count the number of teeth at the arrow-marked position shown in the figure below.

• Confirm the diameter and length of the triangular disc’s fixed shaft. As shown in the figure

• With all the information you provide, we are able to fully customize the overlapping wiper linkage strictly in accordance with your actual measured dimensions.

 2.Vertical wiper linkage

The vertical opposed wiper linkage features a simpler structure compared with the overlapping wiper linkage. Please take a full overall photo of the linkage assembly to confirm its riveting structure.

• To measure L1 (the dimension of the pull rod), you need to determine the distance between two center points.

•  As shown in the figure above, measure the lengths of B1: the diameter of the threaded sleeve , B2:the linkage rod ,  B3:the length of shaft and the diameter at the top of the threaded sleeve shaft.

• Measure the lengths of C1 (auxiliary cam), C2 (auxiliary rocker arm), and C3 (main rocker arm), as shown in the figure above (distance should be centre point to centre point).
